fine art photography

Everybody loves art be it paintings, sculptures, great literary pieces, Or one of the many other takes on it.But one of the sections of Art that has lately captured my interest is Photography. What has become known as fine art Photography is not just snapping a pic and hoping for the best. It is rather a skilled use of eye, to determine what will look best and achieve the results the Artist is after, So that a moment in time is forever frozen as an image. It is too this interest that I have found myself trawling the streets of Sydney, searching for great Photographs. I reasoned that as easily one of the most Photographic cities in the world, surely their would be many photographers happily snapping images out of the steel and concrete hurly burly of everyday Sydney life. And so it was to a weekend market situated across from the Iconic Sydney Opera house that I found what I was looking for.On a rather unassuming set of tables were arrange hundreds of pictures. Being a budding musical fan the first one that caught my eye, was a set of three showing the intricate curves and graceful line of brass instruments. It spoke to me of smoke filled 'Jazz rooms' where the lost and down souls of 1920's New york listened to the haunting whine of 'Miles Davis'. As a stared at these three tiny framed images, I realised the skill it takes to arrange them to tell such a story. I was hooked! And simply had to have one, As i continued to look at the photo's some showing the Harbour bridge bathed in cloud so thick that it appeared as if a row of giant trees were marching out of the image. Others showing a lone Koala perched in a tree. And some still showing the many vistas and sites of a city whose beauty I often forget to notice. A friendly voice asked "how I was"?Shifting my eyes from these images I looked into the friendly face of the man running the stall. "those ones are $15 dollars" He said indicating the set of three I had in my hand. "$15 dollars"?I replied "That is incredibly cheap!" "I don't need to charge more" He said simply. That rather unassuming man was 'Gary David' the photographer himself. He runs his stall at this weekend market every week to sell his images, as I watched him greet the many tourists who flocked to buy his images, a souvenir to take back home with them. Listened as he explained each image, and gave advice on which would best suit their needs. And more often than not lowered the price, I realised that here was something worth writing about. Most fine art photographers charge a fortune for all of their work! And here was somebody selling his images ridiculously cheaply, simply because he appeared to love his work and wanted to share them.I later found out that he sells his images online, and to anyone in the world. He will simply fill your order and send them to you. And he is also available for specialised work, and can do commissions for those who want them.If you happen to be in Sydney, and find yourself wandering near the Opera house on the weekend i urge you to take a look. I am certain you will find an image you just have to take home with you. You can also check out his images here http://www.garydavidimages.com/And you can also find out how to order his images off this site. A website is also being constructed which will enable you to purchase them directly from it. And I will include a link when it is up and running.
